What is State Youth Camp?
Described as a camp within a camp, SYC is designed so that Youth Pastors & Youth Leaders can spend maximum time with their Youth Groups, and don’t have to concern themselves with the details of duties such as organising Catering, Activities, Workshops, Program etc. that come from organising their own own Youth Camp.
Coming into it’s 6th year SYC is developed each year by making decisions looking through the lens of the question “how can we support and resource youth groups, and grow community and discipleship opportunities for the local baptist churches in NSW & the ACT?”
SYC brings youth groups together for an amazing shared experience with God, with 3 nights of camping, activities, worship, prayer, teaching and relationship building!
Who can I expect to see?
State Youth Camp is a camp designed for high school aged young people attending a youth group. Every year we have been growing, starting with 10 youth groups our first year and growing up to 30 youth groups in 2019.
We have youth groups from all over NSW and ACT joining us at camp each year. From Grafton to Wagga, Central Coast and the Hunter as well as Northern beaches, the Shire, and Canberra. We are excited to see you and your youth ministry there in 2020!
You will also see a team of volunteers dedicated to making SYC the best camp ever, and many youth leaders and youth pastors on site.
We are hoping to see 40 youth groups joining us in 2020!
I have loved watching my team of leaders grow and take steps in developing their leadership skills. Their passion and commitment to the kids is something that I marvel at daily and camp saw it intensify.
