SYC2020 “BELONG”

LOCAL CHURCH BASED SYC EXPERIENCE

We know that 2020 has not gone to plan, we know that this is a year like no other, and we also know that the need for young people to engage with gathered youth ministry, meeting with Jesus and growing in discipleship is more important than ever.

So this year, instead of a large camp in one location we are making the SYC experience available for youth ministries at the local church level. This will involve youth groups gathering safely in their church context and utilising technology connect with other youth groups meeting in their own church context! All across NSW and the ACT we will have youth groups gathering on Sept 25th and 26th for a unique opportunity to belong to something bigger, but stay safely in the smaller group where they need to be right now. The SYC20 event will include a mix of online, livestream and small group teaching content, pre planned and resourced activities, worship from the SY Band, prayer, fun and fellowship, as well as our epic SYC FEST short film festival.

I have loved watching my team of leaders grow and take steps in developing their leadership skills. Their passion and commitment to the kids is something that I marvel at daily and camp saw it intensify.

The Sinai time inspired a lot of kids in their devotional time. Many kids after camp were trying to spend more time with God and read their bible.

You guys have nailed this! There’s plenty to do so the kids don’t get bored, but there’s a good amount of down-time to chill and connect.

Each of them stepped out of their comfort zones and they loved it! I think just seeing all different kids come together and just love everyone around and sharing in God experiences made my weekend! BEST SYC EVER!!
